President, Hope for Poor Children Foundation

Desmond FitzGerald graduated from Harvard College, served in the Navy, and began his career in investments at JP Morgan in 1966. In 1974, he co-founded a securities firm that was sold to a major bank in 1986. He has been an active investor for many years, serving on the boards of several banks and mutual funds and small companies.

He co-founded and currently serves as a senior principal of a fund of hedge funds. He founded the Hope for Poor Children Foundation and has served for many years as a trustee for charities, including the Aquaya Institute, the Children’s Aid Society, Helen Keller International, and Water Aid America.

Mr. FitzGerald joined the CMMB Board of Directors in 2014 and serves as the Chair of the Advancement Committee and as a member of the Finance Committee.
