In today’s Gospel, Jesus’s conversation with the Pharisees and the Herodians leads us to reflect on our responsibilities to one another and to God.

Our faith calls on us to recognize the image of God in every person, whether stranger or friend. It asks us to look beyond circumstance and cherish the dignity of each person—to make it visible through our service to others.

Imagine being a new mother with a sick child. At the hospital, the doctor knows what is making your baby sick, but the hospital is out of the medication needed to ease it. In this frightening moment, would you feel seen?

At CMMB, we send donated medicines and supplies around the world so that moments like this end in hope instead of fear, and no mother has to leave the hospital with her child feeling unseen.

As we begin a new week, let us stay true to our responsibilities and be the light that shows the people around us that they are seen and loved.
