Meet Frank, Legacy Donor

This story was shared with us by Frank’s son, Steve, who is continuing his father’s legacy of supporting CMMB.

My father, Frank, passed away in 2017 at the age of 89. He had lived a quiet life marked by hard work, personal austerity, and charitable giving. His lifestyle of simplicity and self-denial was purposeful; he wanted to have more to give to others. Dad supported dozens of charities, many on an ongoing basis. Even as his health was failing in his last years, he still tried to open and read each appeal for help that came in the mail. This unwavering commitment to helping others had a strong and lasting impact on each of his four children.

Of the many charities Dad supported, he had a favorite one – CMMB, which he described to us as “one of the finest charitable organizations in the world.” His concern for the welfare of the poor, especially children, was met by the mission of CMMB to help the most vulnerable women and children throughout the world to live healthy, full and productive lives. One of Dad’s final wishes was to continue to support and sustain the work of CMMB long after he was gone. To accomplish this, he asked if we (his children) would agree to donate 10% of the net income from the farms he had willed to us to support CMMB.  Each of us heartily agreed, and Dad’s legacy of helping the “least of these” (Matthew 25: 35-40) lives on!
