Emergency in Venezuela
A crippling humanitarian crisis in Venezuela has brought healthcare, education, and all basic services to a halt as the economy spirals downward. Thousands of Venezuelans are fleeing the country as extreme shortages of food and medicine are making living conditions unbearable in what was once one of Latin America’s most developed nations. Over 3 million people have fled Venezuela since 2015 and the United Nations estimates about two million more, from a population of 32 million, could follow this year.
Food shortages and hyperinflation have put buying food out of reach for many, and migrants crossing the border are increasingly malnourished and sick.
The healthcare system is heading for total collapse as an estimated 55% of doctors have joined the massive exodus, leaving pregnant mothers and sick children and elders without medical attention.
CMMB has dispatched shipments of medicines and medical supplies to support our partners on the ground, to help care for Venezuelan refugees. But we can do more.
In times of crisis, your help will save lives. A gift of $100, $200, $500, or any amount, will mean improved access to healthcare and medicines for vulnerable mothers and children living through emergencies like this.
