Kenya Country Lead, inSupply Health

Laura Nabwire is an innovative, commercial supply chain leader credited with spearheading commercial success, supply chain performance and project management across private, public and not-for-profit sectors. In a career stretching over sixteen years at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Merck Group and Procter and Gamble (P&G), she has championed the strategic direction of pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare divisions through integrated business models, merging a background in supply chain management and commercial operations leadership.

As supply chain manager at GSK and Merck, Laura has global and regional supply chain expertise by establishing the Central and North West Africa supply chain function, leading change from diverse legacy forecasting to a standardized consensus forecasting process and S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) through project and change management across Africa, and transitioning customer service, warehousing, distribution and logistics functions to a third-party (3PL) provider.

As general manager and commercial leader, Laura’s roles at Merck and P&G meant she managed the overall strategic, sustainable business plans and implementation at regional levels in the pharma, and consumer health sector and spearheaded operational restructure. She remodeled the business from distributor to legal entities with defined responsibilities for the appointed distributors, 3PL and Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Medical Compliance functions.

Laura is currently the Kenya Country Lead at inSupply Health, a public health advisory firm in East Africa, affiliated with JSI Research & Training Institute and the mission is to transform lives by co-creating innovative and sustainable solutions for healthy communities. She has practical experience in managing donor-funded projects while working with multiple private and public sector players; skilled at developing and managing workstreams, project budgets, providing overall leadership and oversight, including assigning accountabilities.

Keen to pass on her knowledge, Laura is a mentor with the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, and a full member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS). Laura joined the CMMB Board of Directors in 2022 and serves on the Program Committee.
