Begin Advent With Us—Your Weekly Reflection

For many of us in the United States, the weather has grown colder and the days shorter. These changes mark the transition from one season to another. And, on this first day of Advent, we enter a truly joyful one.
Today’s Gospel reminds us to reflect on our preparations for Christmas. How do you keep your heart open during Advent? How do you live your faith in preparation for Jesus’s coming? These are the questions that our Gospel urges us to explore. Because we know that the Son of Man is coming, but we do not know when.
“But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. For as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.”
At CMMB, we seek to do as Jesus did—in compassion and action. During Advent, we practice gratitude for what we have and what we are able to give. We wait for Jesus by serving our neighbors both near and far.
To help guide your own Advent journey, we invite you to download CMMB’s free Advent calendar—filled with simple daily reflections and small acts of kindness that keep our hearts focused on what matters most this season.
