We join you in reflection on this first Sunday of Advent, a season in our faith that invites us to prepare for the birth of Jesus. And our Gospel today encourages us to consider a very fitting theme—preparedness.

Jesus offers his disciples the example of a man who leaves his home to travel. His workers are in charge of tending to his estate. Jesus warns… just as the workers must be alert and prepared for the return of their employer, so too must the disciples be for Christ’s return.

For many around the world, there is much preparation that goes along with this joyous time. There are the festive gatherings with family and friends, the meals that we enjoy together, and the gifts we share in gratitude for one another.

At CMMB, we gratefully prepare to celebrate our faithful community and those who are called to extend their giving to those in need. Thank you for thinking of our brothers and sisters around the world this Advent.

We hope you will find time, amid all your preparations, to pause, reflect, and rejoice—for what we have, and what we may share with others.

We invite you to download our free 2023 Advent calendar. We hope it brings you joy all season long.
