Description of Partnership:
KPMG is a professional services firm, offering offering audit, tax, and business advice to clients worldwide. The firm also has a commitment to community service. With support and funding from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and the Sudan Relief Fund, CMMB partnered with KPMG to conduct a landscape analysis and capacity assessment of faith-based health facilities in Kenya, South Sudan, and Zambia. In Africa, faith-based care fills a critical gap, especially for the poor. In some African countries, more than 30% of formal in-patient healthcare is provided by faith-based healthcare facilities. With the support of KPMG, CMMB was able to identify significant capacity needs in healthcare facilities run by women religious. The landscape analysis discovered that many of these facilities could improve capacity and benefit from training in e-Health and m-Health, making it easier to assist patients and collect data even in understaffed, low resource settings.
