John comes to CMMB with three decades of experience in nonprofit marketing and technology. Before coming to CMMB, at Human Rights Watch, he was senior director of marketing, responsible for growing its global brand and increasing its reach within the U.S. market. Before that, he served in progressively more responsible positions at International Rescue Committee. Online revenues more than tripled while he was director of marketing and fundraising, responsible for digital marketing strategies to grow and diversify the online donor base while retaining existing donors. He deployed robust testing, segmentation, and optimization to maximize performance and align digital strategies with departmental goals to maximize impact. His career also includes positions as director of the Archdiocese of New York’s Donor Database Center; as information systems manager at Carnegie Hall; as development systems director at the Guggenheim Museum; and as assistant director of membership at the Museum of Natural History. He has a master’s of science degree in nonprofit leadership from Fordham University and a bachelor of arts degree in art and design from Adelphi University. He is a PMI-certified Project Management Professional.
