I am Celebrating My Mother Because:

she set a great example for me through her volunteer work!

How my mother has inspired me: 

In the mid-80s, when AIDS was a terrifying, mysterious disease that nobody understood, my mom was one of the first volunteers on the front lines, working with AIDS project Hartford. Through her work we met some of the smartest, funniest and most loving people you could hope to meet. I am very grateful that, as a teen, I had a chance to witness firsthand the power of compassion.
