On the road to Emmaus, two disciples walk heavy with grief and uncertainty. A stranger soon accompanies them. Later, when the stranger joins them in the breaking of bread, they realize that the man is no stranger at all. Their eyes are finally open to the truth. It is Jesus who walked alongside them. It is Jesus who now sits among them.

This Easter season invites us into that same gradual understanding. At CMMB, we are privileged to walk alongside communities whose journeys of hope and healing unfold one step at a time. We may not always see the full picture. But we trust that we are moving in the right direction.

On this Third Sunday of Easter, let’s welcome the moments when our eyes are opened—and give thanks to those who walk with us along the way.
