Jesus asks his disciples to consider what truly matters. His words invite us to look beyond the standard measures of success that we have grown familiar with.  

It can be easy to pursue what we see as immediate—the next accomplishment or the next goal. But faith allows us to see our lives as something larger. We are called to love, to serve, and to use what we have been given in ways that bring hope to others.   

For us at CMMB, that is part of what it means to leave a legacy.  

A legacy is what we leave behind. It is a reflection of what mattered to us while we were here: the people we loved, the values we lived by, and the ways we sought to make the world a little better for those we leave behind.   

As August comes to a close, so does Make-A-Will Month—a fitting time to pause and reflect on the kind of legacy we hope to leave. For some, that may include remembering a cause or organization that has been meaningful to them in their visions of the future. For all of us, it can be an invitation to ask how we want to show up for others today and be remembered tomorrow.  

Together, we can leave love and hope for those who follow.
