Meet Tricia, Angel Investor
Tricia’s parents got her started early with a tradition of giving back, so she wanted to do the same with her kids. As she was searching for an organization to support, she found CMMB’s Angel Investor program and decided to share the stories of children living in poverty with her kids. They were very moved by Djethro, a baby boy suffering from malnutrition in Haiti, so Tricia created a family activity to help her children experience the beauty and importance of helping those in need.
Djethro’s picture and story inspired and motivated my children to want to work hard to give back. The children earn money by doing jobs around the house and they put coins in a jar with his picture on it labeled “Jobs for Djethro.” This has been a positive experience for the whole family. We are praying for Djethro, that he is able to recover from his malnutrition and thrive. We are also praying for the doctors who care for him. My goal for my children is to plant the seeds of understanding that it is our responsibility—regardless of the sacrifice—to do what we can to take care of our neighbors, near and far. We are so happy to have found CMMB. Knowing exactly how donations are put to use is so important. I also like CMMB’s focus on women and children, the different ways of giving, the personal stories of the children, and definitely the amount of money that goes directly to the family and the community!
