Keisha is the youngest of four children. Her family lives in a borrowed house in a remote and very poor community in southern Haiti. Keisha’s mother, Emmanuelle, is very worried because she doesn’t know when they will have to leave. She is the family’s sole caregiver and she struggles every day to provide for her children’s basic needs. She does not have an income and the family garden doesn’t provide enough to feed her family. To complicate an already challenging life, young Keisha has Down syndrome. Mom knows that Keisha needs special care, but she doesn’t have the means to provide it.
Children with disabilities who are living in extreme poverty are among the most vulnerable populations in the world. There are limited options for care and the stigma has an impact on the whole family. Keisha needs an Angel Investor to help her get access to the care she needs so that she can exceed everyone’s expectation.
