Transformation, Growth, and Impact—Your Weekly Reflection
We write to you today after our US-based staff gathered for three days of insightful meetings and fruitful collaboration. During our time together, we reflected on transformation and the significant impact it can have when we welcome it into our lives.
For those of us at CMMB, today’s Gospel continues our reflections on what it means to transform.
Jesus compares his relationship with God to that of a vine and a vine grower.
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower. He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and everyone that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit.”
Continuing this analogy, Jesus encourages his disciples to remain in him as he remains in them.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.
Just as a barren branch transforms with lush blooms or a caterpillar with colorful wings, we know transformation brings great growth and impact—but that does not mean it is easy.
As we navigate the challenges of transforming health systems around the world, we are comforted by the growth that takes shape daily and the true scale of impact that has yet to come.
