Today, we mark the beginning of Advent—a season where we prepare our hearts for the celebration to come. In this week’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us to keep watch and lift our heads high.

Jesus says, “There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars…when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.”

What might we keep our eyes and ears open for in the busy season ahead? At CMMB, we are reminded to listen to the needs of our brothers and sisters around the world. In many places, people are calling for support, dignity, and healing. They remind us that our faith is present in every life we touch.

As we enter Advent and look forward to this season of giving, we are invited to answer these calls with open hearts. By responding, we stay true to the path Jesus laid in his own footsteps.
