The Advisor will work closely with the Access to Medicines team to give guidance on medication procurement (donations and purchasing) as well as with internal CMMB teams, country offices, and partners to inform strategies, conduct needs assessments, review product offers, and support evidence-based interventions that improve access to medicines and to strengthen healthcare systems in resource-limited settings. A priority and major focus for this role will be the CMMB NCD Impact Initiative. The Advisor will also support the department’s medical donations program to identify and screen product for distribution.

Strategic Input: Contribute to the development of strategies and programs aimed at improving access to medicines and NCD management in low-resource settings. Advise on how to integrate NCD-related healthcare services into existing CMMB programs and activities.
Needs Assessment: Conduct and support assessments of country-specific NCD challenges and healthcare infrastructure, identifying gaps and recommending tailored solutions to strengthen NCD management, commodity management, and healthcare delivery.
Training & Capacity Building: Develop guidelines, training materials, and tools to support capacity-building for local medical staff and healthcare workers, as well as CMMB’s international teams and partners on NCD prevention, management, and care. Deliver trainings as needed.
Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with CMMB stakeholders (including CMMB country offices, partners, donor organizations, and others) to develop partnerships, raise awareness, and mobilize resources for NCD-focused programs.
Policy Development & Advocacy: Support CMMB’s advocacy efforts by contributing to policy development, technical reports, and briefing documents related to NCD prevention and control. Facilitate access to and participate in relevant convenings, councils, advisory boards, round tables, etc. for NCDs as well as for access to medicines.
Program Design & Monitoring: Assist in the design, implementation, and monitoring of NCD-related projects, ensuring they are aligned with best practices, ethics, local needs, and available resources.
Data & Evidence: Contribute to the collection and analysis of data to evaluate the impact of NCD programs, identifying opportunities for improvement and scaling successful interventions.
Report Writing: Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documents related to NCD programs and CMMB access to medicines efforts, for both internal and external audiences, including donors, partners, and stakeholders.
Special Projects: Take on specific ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Vice President Access to Medicines Department, ensuring that all deliverables are met within the agreed timelines.
