What We Carry into the New Year—Your Weekly Reflection

We write to you after what we hope was a meaningful Christmas Day. Our Gospel begins after the Magi’s departure. It follows Jesus as his family flees in the middle of the night for Egypt, then later, when they move to Nazareth. Each new home fulfills the words of the prophets.
Our attention is drawn to Joseph, Jesus’s father, who responds to each warning to leave without hesitation. Again and again, he opens his heart to God’s guidance, choosing trust over fear and action over certainty. In moments that demand courage, Joseph makes room for compassion, service, and faith.
At CMMB, we reflect on what we opened our hearts to this past year. With every milestone reached and every challenge faced, we carried compassion for those we serve and trust in the mission that guides us. Like Joseph, we moved forward step by step, grounded in faith and purpose. These days also bring us moments of deep gratitude for our supporters. We’re proud to celebrate people like David, whose generosity and commitment to CMMB makes our work possible. It’s a privilege to share his story with you in the final days of 2025.
Looking ahead to the coming year, we carry with us hope born from our successes, gratitude for those who believe in our mission, and trust that faith will continue to guide us—even when the steps feel labored.
