He Is Risen—Your Weekly Reflection

While it was still dark, Mary of Magdala came to Jesus’s tomb. She found that the stone was removed. Later, two disciples confirmed that the tomb was empty—that the burial clothes were folded and set aside. While the disciples do not yet understand the miracle of Jesus’s Resurrection, we are witness to the beginnings of something extraordinary as readers of today’s Gospel. We are witness to new life where there had only been loss.
On this Easter Sunday, we celebrate the promise of new life. We celebrate it through Martina and her son Clever Juma, born safely thanks to the health services for mothers and newborns in her community. We celebrate it through the community health workers we support in rural communities of Peru. They protect new life by visiting moms and their babies at home during those fragile first weeks and beyond.
Thank you for your support of CMMB during this Easter season and beyond. You make these moments of celebration possible. We look forward to continuing the story that began in today’s Gospel alongside you.
