In this Sunday’s Gospel, we find the disciples fishing through the night until a man on the shore calls to them. They don’t recognize him at first, but after following his guidance and hauling in an overwhelming catch, their eyes are opened: it is Jesus, risen. This story captures something essential about this Easter season. In this event of return and recognition, Jesus extends an invitation: “Follow me.”

Spring and Easter are both seasons of renewal. They remind us that new life doesn’t come all at once—it emerges slowly, sometimes quietly. Just as Jesus met the disciples anew after the Resurrection, we, too, are invited to begin again—to reset our expectations and recommit ourselves to love and service.

At CMMB, we witness every day that service takes many forms. For some, it’s traveling great distances to offer helping and healing hands. For others, it’s a kind word, a shared prayer, or the daily choice to care for others in need. Big or small, each act of love brings us further along our path in Jesus’s footsteps and towards a world he envisioned—one healed by compassion.

As we journey through this Easter season, we are opening our hearts to the call to serve, ready to respond and follow. A season to begin again.
