Today’s Gospel is driven by questions about Jesus’ identity and our belief: “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph? Do we not know his father and mother? Then how can he say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”

These questions are posed after Jesus repeats a theme we are familiar with from past readings—that he is the bread that came down from heaven. He is the very sign that the crowds seek so that they may believe.

Belief is powerful. It can keep us walking ahead even when the path is rocky. For us at CMMB, our belief in healthier lives worldwide is the foundation of every project, partnership, and invitation for support.

This belief is what has connected us with you and the community of compassionate supporters you are a part of. We recently had the honor of celebrating the life and legacy of one of CMMB’s planned giving supporters, Dr. Gene S. Schulak. Dr. Gene or “Uncle Gene” shared your belief in our mission, and his legacy continues to support it. We invite you to learn more about Uncle Gene, his life, and the impact that his memory continues to make on our journey towards healthier lives worldwide.
