About 830 women die from pregnancy- or childbirth-related complications around the world every day.*
In the developing world, having a child is among the most serious health risks for women. Giving birth is one of the most painful experiences a woman can have, so they need to be as comfortable as possible. A woman in labor needs to feel secure and supported—a good delivery bed can do that by providing dignity for the mother, preventing infection and helping to better manage complications like hemorrhage and obstructed labor. "A woman in labor needs a clean bed, comfortable place, and lots of compassionate care." —Dr. Andruma Mustapha, Safe Motherhood Project, South Sudan
