We write to you at the start of what many consider the holiday season. In just a few short days, family and friends will gather to share a Thanksgiving meal in the United States. Memories will be shared, gratitude expressed, and appetites satisfied.

It feels fitting to enter this week of gratitude with a Gospel reading that reminds us at CMMB of Jesus’ role in our mission—and of our gratitude for his faith and guidance.

In our Gospel, Jesus says, “For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”

One may understand Jesus’ words as an indication of why he came into our lives—to share hope, healing, and forgiveness.

At CMMB, we follow in Jesus’ footsteps because of the truth he represents and the example he set for us. His message of compassion and healing guides us as we serve those in need, extending love, dignity, and health to the world’s most vulnerable. As we reflect on this, we are grateful for each of you—our supporters, staff, and volunteers—who make this mission of hope possible.

Let us remember that in the spirit of truth and service, we are building a world rooted in health, justice, and love.
