Happy Easter: Blessings and Joy All Season Long

Mary of Magdala visits Jesus’s tomb, only to find the stone rolled away. In her confusion and grief, she does not recognize the miracle that has unfolded. The disciples, too, struggle to understand what has taken place. This moment marks the end of a journey through sorrow and sacrifice. It is also the beginning of something new. A new season. A new hope.
Today, we celebrate Easter with open hearts—ready to welcome the joy of our faith. Joy abounds even in the ordinary: in families gathering to share a meal or in the newly thawed soil making way for rebirth. But we do not always recognize joy for what it is. Sometimes, joy is hidden in the burdens we carry.
The disciples eventually recognized the joy of the Resurrection. At CMMB, we strive to learn from them—to remember that joy is never gone. It is always there, sometimes quietly waiting for us to recognize it.
At CMMB, joy is in the people we serve and the communities we walk alongside. And the best way to take it all in yourself is with our 2024 Annual Report.
This year, despite the burden of conflicts, we reached 1.4 million people worldwide with lifesaving support. Our Medical Donations Program distributed medicines and medical supplies to 32 countries. In this annual report, we will share more of your impact in numbers, but you will also meet the people behind those numbers. Their stories of healing and resilience are a reality because of your unwavering generosity. – Mary Beth Powers, Chief Executive Officer & Stephen Sichak, Chair, Board of Trustees.
Today, we celebrate that joy with hearts full of hope and eyes open to the goodness around us. And like the disciples, we continue forward—believing, even when we don’t fully understand. Because we know that joy, like love, is always there.
We wish you and yours a blessed Easter Sunday.
