On International Day of Persons with Disabilities: CMMB Celebrates Benjamin
On December 3rd, CMMB comes together with the UN, members of the private sector, and other non-profit organizations, to promote an understanding of issues around disability and to mobilize support for the dignity, rights, and well-being of children and adults living with disabilities around the world.
Listen to Benjamin’s Story:
Through CMMB’s Rehabilitation with Hope program, Benjamin receives life-changing therapy that gives him the opportunity to be a kid. Something that Benjamin, and every other child living with disabilities deserves. Benjamin’s story is a story about a broken and unequal healthcare system. But it is also undoubtedly a story of unwavering support and hope, and how compassion and opportunity can transform a life.
There is no greater disability in society, than the inability to see a person as more. – Robert M. Hensel
Advocating for those too often silenced
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was proclaimed an annual day of observance, by the United Nations General Assembly, in 1992. Each year, a specific theme is chosen to represent a different issue faced by individuals with disabilities. Themes in the past have focused on inclusion, e-accessibility and a sustainable development. This year, we advocate for the transformation towards a sustainable and resilient society for not only Benjamin but, for disabled persons around the world.
CMMB believes in the possibility and dignity of every human being. When you change your expectations, you can change the world.
