Never Sent Alone—Your Weekly Reflection

In today’s Gospel, we find Jesus on a mountaintop. He is surrounded by His disciples, who grapple with awe and disbelief at what is taking place. Jesus then approaches them with a mission. “Go,” he tells them, and “make disciples of all nations.”
As you imagine the disciples in this moment, how do you think they felt? Did they fear their mission? Did they question if they could do it? But Jesus offers something to carry with them: “I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
With such a gift from Jesus, their fears are heard, and their questions are answered. The disciples are not sent alone on their mission—and neither are we. That spirit of shared mission lives in the partnerships we nurture at CMMB. Recently, our network of partners enabled us to reach St. Dominic’s Catholic Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria, with much-needed safe-birth supplies. From the donation of medical supplies to transportation and distribution, success requires collaboration from start to finish.
For one mother who arrived at St. Dominic’s in critical condition, the partnership meant the difference between tragedy and joy. She and her baby girl both survived. “The family was so happy,” the hospital shared.
This Sunday, we are reminded that we are never sent alone. When we work together, we can protect life in places that need it most.
