We write to you on this first Sunday of Lent, with admiration for the events we read in today’s Gospel.  

To mark these first days of Lent, we observe Jesus’ time in the desert. He is surrounded by dangers and is faced with many temptations. But Jesus remains firm in his faith.  

When he finally leaves for Galilee, 40 days later, he proclaims the gospel of God.  

“This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” 

As we journey through this season of Lent, we will undoubtedly face challenges. For us at CMMB, we find peace knowing that Jesus is beside us, encouraging us forward with faith.
