In today’s Gospel, we read about Jesus’ baptism. The events that unfold reveal his true identity as the Son of God—and our place in his faithful community.

John explains to the eager crowds, “I am baptizing you with water, but one mightier than I is coming.”

After Jesus is baptized, he goes off to pray. It is here that the Holy Spirit appears “in bodily form like a dove.”

“You are my beloved Son,” declares a voice from Heaven. “With you I am well pleased.”

Our community is one of the many gifts we receive through our faith. There is strength in community, and there is impact in community.

Right now, we are extending our hearts to those affected by the devastating fires in Southern California. Your CMMB community is with you, praying for relief, safety, and recovery.
