What
This project has focused on a small prosthetics and orthotics studio in Port-au-Prince that was destroyed during the 2010 earthquake. It was rebuilt and reconceptualized as the site of a training program for young Haitians in the art and engineering of prosthetics and orthotics. CMMB supplies a full-time technician while Germany’s Medi GMBH, an international firm specializing in high-tech prosthetics and orthotics, supplies additional technicians. All these professionals work with a small group of Haitian trainees, who learn on the job to fit their clients and rehabilitate them.
