As those of us in the United States pause this Fourth of July weekend to enjoy time with family and friends, today’s Gospel offers an invitation: to release the burdens we carry. Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.”

We all carry our own burdens. It may be worry for a loved one, uncertainty about the future, or the weight of providing for a family. Jesus reminds us that we don’t carry these burdens alone.

Around the world, we witness the heavy burdens families face—from preventable illness to limited access to healthcare. Through the generosity of our supporters and the dedication of our partners, we can help lighten those burdens and walk alongside communities with compassion and hope.

As we gather this holiday weekend, may we find moments of rest and gratitude, while remembering that one of the greatest ways we can share our blessings is by helping carry the burdens of others.
