Small Acts Done Faithfully—Your Weekly Reflection

Today’s Gospel reminds us that even the smallest acts, when done faithfully, contribute to something so much greater than ourselves. Jesus tells his disciples, “When you have done all you have been commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do.’”
At CMMB, we are blessed to see the truth in this principle every day. In the Dominican Republic, children like 10-year-old M.V. face serious health challenges due to malnutrition. Our Access to Medicines program collaborates with partners all over the world to reach children like M.V., who received chewable vitamins to fill critical diet gaps. A seemingly simple resource, shared at no cost, is helping M.V. reclaim her childhood so she can grow, learn, and play.
Just as a mustard seed of faith can grow into something powerful, distributing medicine and vitamins to one child at a time is life-changing for families and, eventually, for entire communities. We may not see community-wide change immediately, but we witness it strengthening each day.
By showing up, serving as we are called to do, and trusting in the impact of our efforts, our faith reaffirms that our contributions support a vision of healthier lives worldwide—that “something” that is so much greater than ourselves.
