Michael O’Hara
Michael was inspired to join CMMB in 2012 by its mission, vision and values, and the opportunity to support global health initiatives in high risk communities throughout the developing world. As CMMB’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), he provides strategic, fiscal, and operational leadership to the organization, and oversees the management of the Medical Donations Program.
Prior to joining CMMB, Michael spent 32 years with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the lead development agency of the UN system. At UNDP, he held increasingly responsible positions at the corporate and country levels in the areas of planning, management, finance, operations, and programming. Michael spent the last seven years of his career as UNDP’s Director of Planning and Budget. As such, he was responsible for the strategic planning, oversight, and implementation of UNDP’s $5 billion annual budget which funded the global operational infrastructure and development programs of 129 country offices and 17 corporate/regional locations. He has also led numerous, multi-discipline problem resolution missions throughout Africa and Asia and served for four years as UNDP’s Deputy Resident Representative to Bhutan. Prior to joining UNDP, Michael spent four years in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Michael is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a BA in Economics from Columbia University and an MBA in Accounting from New York University. He and his wife Ann Marie are native New Yorkers and parishioners of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
