John Hoying

Home: John is originally from Ohio but is now based near Los Angeles, CA.

Education: John earned his bachelor’s in mathematics and psychology from St. Joseph’s College and then went to graduate school at the University of Dayton studying cognitive psychology, leading him into teaching, mental health, medicine, and finally rheumatology.  John earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Ohio and completed his Rheumatology fellowship at Northwestern University Medical School.

CMMB Volunteer Post: Rheumatologist in Mwandi, Zambia.

Interesting Fact: He went into seminary and was asked to be the secretary of the mission committee. This experience gave him tremendous respect for missionaries and the work they do.
