Volunteer Position: Psychiatric Nurse Volunteer in Yambio, South Sudan

Service Period: January – July 2023

Background: Morgan is a psychiatric and mental health registered nurse and is certified as both a psychiatric nurse and a holistic nurse. She has worked as a mental health nurse for over 3.5  years. During the pandemic she gained experience in Med-Surg as a nurse. Morgan has a master’s degree in nursing education and has worked as both a preceptor for new nurses and a clinical instructor. From age 17, Morgan knew that part of her career path would include volunteering in Africa. During her time in South Sudan she is looking to gain a better understanding of how holistic health care can impact an area in great need of mental health care.
