What made you interested in CMMB?

Shirui Tan is a currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree at Ryerson University in Toronto. She plans to pursue a career in the field of epidemiology or environmental health after graduation. This past summer, Shirui worked as a research assistant for a project concerning pool audit reports. Other experience includes an internship in an office providing HIV treatment and management and as an apprentice in an ophthalmology department in China. She has also been a volunteer care provider for children in Thailand and giant pandas in China. As a public health student, Shirui stated that she strives to promote the healthcare services of communities in low-resource areas and prevent illness in vulnerable populations.
