Update: Swim for Hope Completed

We’re so proud of our team of swimmers whose completed swim took them over 28.5 miles around Manhattan—all to support CMMB’s cancer work in Kenya. Thank you to Derek Yach, Global Health Advisor to CMMB, Mary Money, Keith Kirkpatrick, and Leila Shields for your perserverance and commitment to global access to cancer care. You can see real moments from the team’s swim in the video below.

Derek Yach, Global Health Advisor to CMMB, will be joined by two other cancer survivors, Mary Money and Keith Kirkpatrick, along with Leila Shields, for a swim around the entirety of Manhattan to raise money to help CMMB equip the Phangisile Mtshali Cancer Center in Kitui County, Kenya, and other regional health facilities with highly needed chemotherapy ports to deliver chemotherapy treatment.

Starting at 7 A.M.

Battery Park, NYC

Why We Are Making Waves

Cancer care is not equitable globally, especially in rural communities of Kenya where health facilities are far from home and resources are extremely limited. CMMB is driving progress, but there is so much more to do.

Every Stroke Counts

Make a donation in honor of our swimmers. Download the Swim for Hope Flyer to spread the word.

Your gift will help fill critical treatment gaps in Kenya’s rural Kitui County, including equipping patients at CMMB-supported Phangisile Mtshali Cancer Center at Kitui and surrounding clinics with chemotherapy and chemotherapy ports, a major barrier to quality care.
