I will give thanks to you, O LORD, with all my heart. – Psalm 138

Today’s Gospel reminds us that the Church is built on the foundation of faith in Jesus Christ. Peter announces the core of our faith, that Jesus is God’s only Son. Our global faith community shares this same belief. It is at the heart of all we do. Without a foundation of faith, and a deep commitment to follow the example of Jesus, our work with the most vulnerable women and children would not be possible.

As we enjoy the last days of summer, let’s remember to give thanks for the bounty we may take for granted. As a community, we are truly blessed.

Father, creator of all, thank you for summer.

Thank you for the warmth of the sun and hours of light.

Thank you for the beauty I see all around me.

Thank you for the opportunity to be outside

to enjoy the world you have made.

In these last days of summer, draw me closer to you.

Teach me how to pray, not matter where I am or what I am doing.

Warm my soul with the awareness of you presence

and light my path in your words and counsel.

As I enjoy the miracle of your creation, create in me a pure heart.

Amen.

Yours in grace,
CMMB/Healthier Lives Worldwide
