Mutiso is eight years old and lives with his grandmother, Grace, in a remote and poor village in eastern Kenya. He is one of 10 orphaned grandchildren being cared for by Grandma Grace. Grace is 80 years old and does not have a source of income. Instead, she relies on the generosity of relatives to help her meet her grandchildren’s basic needs. Mutiso was identified as a child in extreme risk and became part of CMMB’s Angel Program. With monthly support from Angel Investor Melanie in Texas, Mutiso is now going to school. Without electricity, Mutiso treasures a solar powered lantern that allows him to study at night. Mutiso loves school and Grandma Grace couldn’t be more proud.
