A Father’s Love—Your Weekly Reflection

In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus promises the coming of the Holy Spirit to guide us. His words embody trust, unity, and the wisdom of generations passed down with love.
This Sunday is also Father’s Day in the United States and other places around the world—a day to celebrate the father figures who guide us through their daily actions, in reflection of our faith. Fatherhood, like discipleship, is a calling. It requires love, responsibility, and sacrifice.
At CMMB, we are privileged to witness this calling every day.
Today, we are celebrating Richard, a father and community water system operator in Kitui County, Kenya. With CMMB’s support and in partnership with the Kitui County Government and Procter & Gamble, Richard helps maintain a water system that brings safe, reliable water to more than 7,700 people. His work is critical. But what drives him most is his desire to create a better future for his children.
Before the water system, families in Kitui faced harsh dry seasons and the constant burden of water scarcity. Richard remembers those days clearly. Now, his work ensures that others don’t have to endure the same. He is a father who leads with love—quietly, persistently, and with purpose.
We look to people like Richard—father figures, caregivers, mentors—who ground us, guide us, and help keep us moving forward. This week, join us in giving thanks for the father figures in our lives. And may we, like Richard, continue to follow our faith in its calling.
