How your sacrifice saves lives—Your Weekly Reflection
There is a tradeoff in every choice made. In today’s Gospel, Jesus guides his disciples through the conditions of discipleship. The sacrifice might be great, but the reward is even greater.
“Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” – Matthew 10:38-39.
At CMMB, we know that one cannot make the choice to give without sacrifice. Grounded in our faith with this knowledge, we deeply cherish every gift made in support of those we serve. And, most importantly, we ensure that your gift—whether in dollars, time, or expertise—results in the greatest reward possible: Healthier lives worldwide.
Over the last 10 years, we’ve been able to distribute more than $5 billion worth of medicines and medical supplies to 83 countries. That means so many of our brothers and sisters around the world have been touched by the gift of health. It’s come with no shortage of sacrifice from supporters like you. But the reward has been unquestionably lifesaving.
“We thank God for CMMB,” says Rachel Nhkata, a local pharmacist who distributes CMMB donated medicines and supplies in Mwandi, Zambia.
Rachel was distributing donated malaria medication during a time when intense rain and flooding caused cases to soar in her community. The losses might have been devastating. But thanks to your support, that’s not the story that unfolded.
“If it wasn’t for [CMMB], we would have been reporting deaths.”
Thank you for opening your heart to sacrifice. Because of faithful partners like you, Rachel reported no deaths due to malaria during this dangerous season.
For us at CMMB, this serves as a powerful example that the impact of your support of our work isn’t just great—it’s lifesaving.
