Mark Cantine recently joined our partnership team in the role of senior major gift officer. Prior to joining CMMB, Mark was the director of development at the Archdiocese of Newark. He is a proud graduate of Seton Hall University. Here he answers some unusual questions about himself, including who he would like to be stuck with in an elevator.

What motivates you? I am motivated by knowing that the work I am doing is impacting someone else’s life for the better.

If you were stuck in an elevator with someone, who would you most like it to be and why?  It would have to be Pope Francis! I would love the opportunity to pick his brain about faith, life, God and more.

What is your hope for the future? My hope for the future is that I can look back and know that I gave life my all!

Is there anything else you would love to be doing? I would love to be traveling the world as a full-time philanthropist; simply visiting the programs that are in need of financial assistance and then providing grants to those I am moved by. Of course,  in order to do this, I would have to win the lottery!

If you were an animal, which would you be and why? I would be a dog. They are fun and loyal animals!

Favorite quote “Trust in the Lord and do Good” Psalm 37:3

What book do you think we should all read? Mitch Albom’s For One More Day – it’s one of my favorite books because it makes you think about what you would do if you had one more day with a deceased relative.

If you had a theme song what would it be? Jock Jams – “Are You Ready For This.”

Who would you like to play you in the movie of your life?  Chris Pratt

What would you love people to know about you? I am married to an extraordinary and hard working woman named Annie. She is a wonderful mom and an extremely compassionate hospice nurse. We have two sons, Joseph (4) and Zachary (2 1/2) and together the three of them inspire and motivate me every single day.

What would you like your last words to be? “This isn’t it, see you soon!”
