Every child deserves a healthy start in life, a healthy childhood, the right to health and access to health services.
All children are vulnerable. But children living in extreme poverty -385 million worldwide- suffer the most from lack of access to healthcare.
This is a completely unacceptable reality. Don’t you agree?
We believe that every child has the right to a healthy life.
- More than 30 million children do not get essential immunizations, leading them to suffer from preventable illnesses. 1.5 million children die every year from vaccine-preventable diseases, including malaria, pneumonia and diarrheal diseases.
- Malaria infects a child every two minutes, killing over one million children every year.
In 2017, nearly 250,000 children received essential healthcare services from CMMB’s global programs. While it is great progress, there is so much more that we, as a global community, can and should do.
We have been serving the poor and marginalized for more than 100 years. Our work is founded on core values of love, respect, and dignity. We ask you to join our proud legacy of faith and strong commitment to social justice for those in need around the world, especially children that may never reach their full potential due to extreme poverty.
By signing our petition, you will show solidarity with children worldwide and become an integral member of our global community, working toward a goal of healthier lives worldwide for women, children, and communities living in extreme poverty.
