Faith on the Frontlines: A Catholic Response to the Global Health Crisis
What role does faith play in navigating complex medical questions raised by the pandemic? Join us for a candid conversation with Catholic healthcare leaders about the tough realities facing medical professionals battling COVID-19 and other crises, both here and abroad, and how the lens of faith helps keep the dignity of the whole person—their family and even the healthcare workers themselves— sharply in focus. Featured participants include, Bruce Wilkinson, President & CEO of Catholic Medical Mission Board and Dr. Mary Leahy, CEO Bon Secours Charity Health System. Father Matt Malone, S.J., Editor in Chief of America Media will moderate.
A Brief Overview of CMMB’s response to COVID-19:
For over 100 years, our mission has been to deliver locally sustainable, quality health solutions to impoverished women, children, and their communities.
We are mounting an urgent $1.9 million response to protect vulnerable populations from COVID-19.
The remote areas where we work in Haiti, Kenya, Peru, South Sudan, and Zambia are desperately poor. Every day is a struggle to find food, access clean water, and take care of basic health.
We are working to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on those already deeply affected by poverty and health problems like malnutrition, malaria, HIV, and other communicable diseases. These supplies will equip frontline health workers and health facilities to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
