Volunteer Position: Public Health Advisor, Kenya

Background: Michael Lee Qualls has 31 years of professional experience with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He retired from the CDC in 2019. Mr. Qualls has experience in international public health activities and programs across numerous resource-constrained countries in Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe. He has a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Qualls has served as a key resource person and technical expert across different programmatic areas of work, with technical capacity and content expertise in HIV/AIDS, HIV prevention, Blood and Injection Safety, Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC), TB, refugee health, malaria, and immunization. He is a former Peace Corps volunteer, serving in Chad and Liberia.
