3rd Annual Goat #GivingTuesday Challenge: Give a Goat, Feed a Kid
What is #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday is a day for global giving. It is a movement that celebrates and supports giving while kicking off the most wonderful time of the year.It is based on the idea that together we can do so much more than we can do alone. And this year marks it’s seventh year!
To celebrate and encourage giving.
In our work at CMMB, we understand the importance of a “collective impact.” We know that through partnerships with governments, corporations, foundations, faith leaders, and especially compassionate individuals, we can truly make a difference in the lives of women and children living in poverty.
On this #GivingTuesday, we’re asking you to join us in our annual giving challenge!
On #GivingTuesday last year, our generous CMMB family raised more than $75,000 to share the Gift of Goats with 2,500 people living in extreme poverty in Haiti. The Gift of Goats is helping vulnerable families and giving women and children the extra nutrition and income they need. Goats provide milk for children, fertilize home gardens so they produce more, providing a family in need with a source of income.
Based on last year’s incredible response and generosity, we’re doubling our #GivingTuesday 2017 goal. That means we have just three days to raise $100,000 to help 10,000 people with the Gift of Goats, and we’re expanding our reach to families in Haiti and Kenya. For the poorest families, a little goes a long way. Through a special match campaign, all #GivingTuesday donations will be doubled. By working together we can help twice as many families with:
Why Be A Part of #GivingTuesday?
St. Gregory Nazianzen reminds us, “Give Something, however small, to the one in need. For it is not small to one who has nothing.”
So, now that our Thanksgiving celebrations have come to an end, and before we are dragged into the rush of Christmas season – gift-giving, drafting letters to Santa, and holiday cheer, #GivingTuesday gives us an opportunity to share our holiday cheer with others. #GivingTuesday is a time to stop and reflect on the blessings we have and share them with women and children living in extreme poverty.
When you truly have a grateful heart, thanks and giving always go together. On #GivingTuesday, we hope you’ll join us, make a Gift of Goats, and be part of a movement of gratitude that flows from one person’s heart to another.
How can you make a difference on #Giving Tuesday?
It’s really as easy as 1-2-3.
