When John Starcher, President and CEO of Mercy Health, was asked to talk about the benefits of the partnership between Mercy Health and CMMB, he responded: “One of my learnings in Zambia and then again in Haiti, is that we have a lot to learn from the developing world. Notwithstanding the lack of resources and infrastructure that those communities experience, we can learn so much about how they learn, how they adapt, survive, and ultimately thrive. Each of our staff members who have participated in these opportunities – going into under-served and under resourced communities – return feeling they have learned so much more than they offered.”
Please share this opportunity with your colleagues and beyond!

When we asked John Starcher to talk about the experience of the first Mercy Health mission team that went out to serve at BJSH shortly before, he shared these words:
“Across the board they were overwhelmed. They all said what a great experience it was and how personally enriched they felt and how blessed they were to have been a part of it. They are all eager to go back. If anything, I have to control their appetites to go back more often than we can afford to have them leave our own ministry. They absolutely loved it and said there was little else they have done in their lives that had a bigger impact.” – John Starcher, CEO
