Meet one of our amazing interns, David Adekunle! David is originally from Nigeria, but currently calls New York home. He is here working towards a masters in public health in environmental and occupational Health at the CUNY School of Public Health. Before moving to NYC, he was living in London where he earned a bachelors in pharmacy from the University of East London. We are lucky to have him as part of our team!

If you were asked to sum yourself up in two words, which two would you choose? Dream chaser.

Why CMMB? CMMB cares about improving access and the quality of healthcare to people living in low income countries and I have so much passion for the healthcare of the people living in Nigeria. That is the main reason I chose CMMB.

What are you most proud of? Getting my bachelors in pharmacy.

Imagine you are stuck in an elevator. Who would you most like to be stuck with? And why? My mum because I love her so much. She is the angel of my life.

You are featured in your national newspaper. What’s the headline? “David discovered the drug to totally eradicate HIV/AIDS!”

What would be your theme song? Congratulations by Post Malone.

Imagine if you were an animal – which would you be and why? I’d be a lion, because I love lions and I like how big it is.

What is your hope for your experience volunteering with CMMB? To gain experience working in a different country, and also to develop my skills working as part of a team.

What is your favorite quote? “You never walk alone.”

What book should everyone read? Rich Dad, Poor Dad 

Who would you like to play you in the movie of your life? Chadwick Boseman

What is your hope for the future? To develop the biggest pharmaceutical industry in Nigeria.

If you could solve one world problem, what would it be? Poverty in Africa.

Who is your biggest inspiration? Why? Dr. Olukoya, he currently has the biggest pharmaceutical industry in Nigeria.
