Volunteer Program Partnerships

Global Health Practicums

CMMB partners with public health programs to provide opportunities for students to put their skills into action in our field programs. Practicum students work alongside public health professionals and experience the day-to-day realities of the field—all while serving vulnerable women and children. Practicums are career development opportunities for students while they provide technical support and contribute to program development, implementation and evaluation.

Internship Program

CMMB recruits undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of academic disciplines to support our work across programmatic and departmental areas. Our internship program provides students with the opportunity for professional development by honing their skills and gaining work experience. Click here to learn more about our internship program. Medical Residency Program

CMMB partners with medical residency programs to provide medical students with international clinical experience while serving vulnerable women and children that lack access to adequate health services. Residents are deployed to the field through short-term placements where they work under the direct supervision of a senior medical clinician. Residents provide care and help strengthen health systems in low resource countries by building capacity.

Student Chapters

CMMB student chapters empower youth with the resources and skills to become humanitarian leaders—acting to support the world’s most vulnerable women and children. Working with CMMB, leaders of student chapters mobilize their fellow students through advocacy, education, community building, fundraising, and other activities.

Educators and Mentors

CMMB partners with corporations to share their skills and knowledge by educating and mentoring health professionals and program managers. Educators design their own sessions and deliver training to staff in our community programs or our partner facilities. Experienced mentors are paired with an in-country professional and connect on a regular basis to advise on specific areas identified by the mentee.

Fellowship Program

CMMB partners with pro bono fellowship programs that are designed to leverage the skills and talents of employees. Fellows join our staff on a long-term and full-time basis. They can work with our New York teams, be deployed to the field, or work under a mixed model. Fellows help build staff capacity, provide technical support, and improve health services in the communities CMMB serves. This long-term, service program provides employees on secondments or sabbaticals with an opportunity to make an impact.

Skills-Based Volunteering

CMMB partners with corporations to lend their expertise on a pro bono basis to provide business, marketing, technology, and other professional solutions. Volunteer opportunities are project specific or long-term, and can be individual or team-based, and may be conducted in-person or remotely.

In addition, CMMB offers other corporate engagement opportunities, such as Day of Service events.

Institutional Health Partnerships

CMMB partners with health systems to provide institution-to-institution partnerships between U.S. health systems and our health facility partners. Institutional partnerships strengthen health facilities and improve health service delivery and outcomes in the communities CMMB serves. Institutional partnerships can provide support through a variety of engagement opportunities: funding, clinical capacity building, joint program development and management, employee engagement, clinical professional development, short-term medical mission trips, and other opportunities for institutional support.

Foundations

CMMB partners with foundations to fund and implement projects in the countries where we serve. By partnering with the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, CMMB created a fellowship program that provided opportunities for highly-skilled professionals to bring care to underserved populations in areas of extreme hardship; places that few are willing to go.

Medical and Nursing Associations

CMMB partners with medical and nursing associations to leverage the skills and talents of medical professionals. With the support of nursing associations, nurses are deployed to the field through mission trips to help build capacity and provide increased access to health services and education in the communities CMMB serves.

Religious Organizations

CMMB works with religious organizations for the recruitment of skilled professionals for medical mission trips and other volunteer opportunities. Firm in our faith, CMMB has been working for more than 100 years to deliver the best possible health solutions to women and children in need with dignity, respect, and love.
